The Greatest Pill To Swallow

Pleasure met pain and got married
but they didn't get a prenup
You were rewarded all of it when you got a divorce
You had a great personality, your cup was always full
but it was your plate
That contained so many sides that caused effects
You invested so much time on the physical
Insomnia continued to sleep in your bed
You might have shared a fling with Septic
Muscular dystrophy started stalking you
Your legs couldn't walk away from pain
no matter the problem
Leukemia became a fatal attraction
You got a restraining order tied down to a hospital bed
Hurt was constant but was a sight for sore eyes
Then along comes pneumonia
that started going behind your back
You decided that you had to get things off your chest
Your heart was so big that it was constantly congested
You considered it a failure so eventually you just stopped
You discontinued to produce oxygen
to relationships that were abusive
You didn't deserve that type of treatment
although you tolerated so much
You were actively dying with no cure
So you became your own doctor
and prepared your own hospital in a higher place
You wrote your own prescription
for one of the best drugs there is
Then reality hit you and you realized
you had to die in order to live life eternally
And that was the greatest pill to swallow
