Gravity

It is not my intent to push away from what I once gravitated to. It’s just that....sometimes gravity brings you down a little lower than you expected. In result I had to learn how to fly, I had to learn how to defy you.  To go back now would mean I’d lose my wings. My wings have taken me places where you could not and I’m sick of clipping them time and time again when you come around. Gravity, you held me down long enough to where I couldn’t determine my own worth, but out of heavy weight, I became a heavyweight at this thing called life, because there was nothing harder than defying gravity. I owe you everything for guiding me to where I am today but I will give you nothing so you can enjoy the view. I’d rather you bask in the man flying in the sky not knowing why he smiles everyday, not knowing that it was you who taught him how to fly. Dear Gravity, I’ve been sight seeing since our last encounter, but nothing is more beautiful than the first time I flew. You know why I can’t come back down? Because when I was with you, I saw something that was so close I could touch it, making it my reality. I’d rather you be my fantasy, be my intangible, I get the best view from up here. You’re much more beautiful from a distance you know.
