Granted

As a kid,

you take everything for granted

not knowing what you are doing.

You know,

that when you leave your house,

your bed will still be there

along with your blankets and pillows.

You know,

that when it’s cold in your house,

there will be a working heater

for your house to warm up.

You know,

that when you get back from school,

you can turn on that T.V.

and have more channels, then you can count.

Its not until you get older,

and you realize,

that you are very fortunate.

Its not until you get older,

and you realize,

that Dad,

worked days and nights,

with mom,

nowhere in sight.

Its not until you get older,

and you realize,

the blood, sweat, and tears he shed,

for you.

And to never,

take anything for granted.

Wow many houses have mothers working sweat and stressful  for the kids do it's always nice to see a father's toil . You write and express in an awesome marvellous poetic way and I wish more teens could appreciate their parents efforts nowadays. Kudos.
