For Granted

We take for granted the motions that we are allowed to make
For granted that every breath we take
Is owed to another who took their last
In a time almost forgotten in our past
That opinion we express
Many could not care less
That another had to fight
For each and every for granted right
I remember those less respected
And wish that sooner my ancestors interjected
Now while I look back
To myself I make a pact
To never treat another less than me
Because of what other were forced to see
