Gossip Travels Fast

Whisper Whisper Whisper
Murmur murmur murmur
Gossip travels fast

The fire burns the innocent
The pain unbearable

Drag your heart, carry your soul
Wither the organ, ghost the essence

The story changes, the nuance slants
My tarried soul,
My bloody heart

Skewed the mind
Lanced the soul
The boil began within the heart

Mind manners
Civil discourse

Knives in my back
Blades under my nails

I ache,
I throb
My soul laments

Again they whisper
Again they murmur

The gossip returns
Never to end

My eyes turn down
My heart fails
My innocence crucified

Mince the words
Delve the heart

Salt the wound
Vinegar the soul

Bitter the root of this worn heart
