Goodbye

The machines beeping

Keeping my grandmother here

But that won't stop the weeping,

It definitely won't stop the tears.

The doctor comes too soon.

He says that it is time.

And the grandmother that I always knew

Will never again call me "Beautiful Sunshine."

Now all we can do is wait.

We wait in silence, we wait in tears.

We wait in the silence that suffocates,

Until she is no longer here.

Many hours have come and gone

And now the time has arrived.

My grandma was born at dawn.

And now she is no longer alive.

I held onto her as she left,

Carried away by her last breath.

I watched in grief as she died

Knowing that she is now in Paradise.
