Golden Bands

A hand to hold, a friend to have,

Someone to cheer you when you're sad.

The tender eyes, the soft warm touch,

The selfless love, they give so much!

Filled with compassion, yet brave and strong,

Ever to calm you when things go wrong.

A stronghold, a fortress, my partner for life,

Promised forever as a husband or wife.

I patiently wait for the sacred day,

that my life will be changed, never to sway.

With those golden bands, hearts and souls will pledge,

What even mortal sins cannot push from Heaven's edge.

A heart to have, a friend to love,

my one and only dear true-love.
