Gold Delinquent

Skin once fair turn flushed from a run being weary

An escape... from her trailing enforcements

Alas! Pounding feet found sanctuary

But locked solid with a combination, it lingered importance

The home of the ocher door withstood her flailing

“I must hide! This is just a small crime…”

Luscious golden locks swung about due to her wailing

And amongst crystal tears came a swallow knocking in perfect rhyme

Echoing Peck, Peck, Peck

Its charming chirps and rasps suspected

That below aching feet laid a window deck

“What an odd opening! So unexpected”

His melody remained spiriting

While his wings stayed sapphire and strong

Nothing could silence the thing

Except for the move to winter’s song

Cast down by the last ray of light

His round reflective eyes caught the glimmer of inside

Too soon dusk will become night

But his hopeful chirps didn’t subside

Only with the child’s understanding, did the guide go to flight

Flown to a tree, the swallow was gone

All that was left were officers baffled by the sight

Defeated they sighed, “Goldilocks is gone!”
