GOBLIN NIGHT

Shadows bouncing 'round my room,

tinting light in shades of gloom,

find me climbing into bed

time to rest my weary head

Darkness peering in my door,

fingers spread across my floor,

snaking, streaming on my wall

writhing, wriggling down my hall

Whispers drifting in my ear,

soon the goblins will appear

making mischief in the night

filling boys and girls with fright

From underneath the bed they come

from closets, from toy boxes and windows, some

with eyes aglow, all red and green,

they enter on the nighttime scene

When the goblins take their flight

close your eyes and tuck in tight

pay no mind and sleep will come

and by morning you'll find no harm done
