You could do everything right,
Make time for him, make him a priority,
Focus on no one but him, blind yourself to the world that exists, surrounding him.
You could make him your world, even give him all you have to offer.
But that won’t be enough,
It won’t guarantee you his love and undying affection.
It could become your biggest mistake and longest regret..
Don’t change your mind or take anything back.
Don’t pull away in fear that he might be that one most painful loss and regret.
Love, naively, and idiotically.
Because you can love someone with all the right intentions, give yourself to them completely,
And if in the end, they decide to leave you or hurt you..
You can live peacefully, knowing you gave him all the love you could.
And you left nothing to be unexplored about yourself, you gave yourself to him, trusting entirely.
Sometimes we forget,
Love isn’t about what you receive.
It’s about what you give.
Expressing love is what we were created for, not quite receivers, but we are all givers.
Most just don’t know it yet.
