Give Them Wings to Fly

All around- I can see it happening,

Failure arises in the classroom.

Everything I see is saddening,

All I want is to see my friends bloom.

Not every kid is a genius,

Not every kid is a learner at heart.

All they feel from the teachers is meanness,

Simply because they aren’t all smart.

Now I’m not saying treat them like babies,

What I am saying is give them a chance.

You don’t want those kids getting stuck selling pastries,

So take the time to take a stance-

That no child will be left behind,

Simply because they cannot multiply.

Help with the struggle for the good of mankind,

You are a mentor- give them wings to fly.
