Girls Are Stress Coded
Location
I have come to notice
How much more often girls are targeted for Dress code violations than boys are,
Girls are getting fed up with being treated as a distraction.
We are stress coded!
Countless times during summer month's girls' education
Are interrupted by something as simple as a bra strap,
Or too short short's
Or a shoulder showings
To me, that sounds like a load of crap.
Ha, I'm sorry but when did shoulders become sexual?
When you interupt something as important as our education
To force us to change clothes,
You are letting us know that our body is more important than our education.
Again I am sorry but it is very true
You are making us feel ashamed for having normal human anatomy
We go to school with that kind of mentality
That we have to apologize for having breasts, legs and shoulders
Trust me we do not dress up for the flattery of others
Do not tell me it "distracts not all, but most boys"
Tell the boys and your faculty to stop sexualizing MY body parts
I am wearing the clothes I choose to be comfotable in; I wear my clothes for myself and no one else
So what I am saying is to find another strategy
Now I honestly do not think it is unreasonable to tell some students some shorts are too short where it shows her ass cheeks
So maybe a way to fix this issue is to be more specific with the dress code policy
Some things that give girls Some comfort
I have legs, why is that such a surprise?
You are basically telling her ' because your body may distract boys your body is inappropriate. Cover it up.'
You are contextualizing her bosy.
One word
Disguise
To conceal the nature or existence of
Stop making me apologize
Stop making it my fault
We deserve to go to school without worrying about being sexualized and punished for a bra strap
Pssst breasts are not a secret, half the worlds population has them
Now I am not saying we are going to show them off
But we girls should be able to confidently wear what we want
We are mature enought to respect our own bodies
And do not use it just to flaunt
So stop telling her that making sure the boys have a distraction free learning environment is more important then her education.
