That Girl

I want to be the kind of girl people write songs about

The kind that strangers fall in love with
when they see her on the bus

The kind who inspires paintings, compositions, books, poetry

I want to be the kind of girl who leaves people
tongue-tied, speechless

The kind who makes you forget you have legs
or how to use them

The kind who makes your heart race
and gives you butterflies

I want to be the kind of girl who, upon meeting her,
ruins all other girls because they aren’t her

The kind whose name is synonymous with beauty

The kind who people fight wars for

I want to a first-choice girl
a “last first” girl

The kind you let sleep because she is beautiful when she sleeps

The kind you will skip work to spend the day with

I want to be “the one”
With no doubts or second guesses

I want to be the girl who takes your breath away

The girl who is your gravity

I want to be the girl you say these things to

The one you want to make feel special
like she is everything to you
like you would choose no one else

I want to be yours
