Germanic Past

Germanic Past

While distraught my heart does shout
it sound like an old Germanic past
trying to make its way back

The  participle, it is actually an alteration of
my distract from words that echos in my head
to draw in different directions

My pains eat at me were I cannot find sleep
I found myself so upset that it's hard to think straight
My heart and mind are drawn in different directions

So I look to the heavens expecting to have hope rekindled
expect my prayers to be answered in wondrous ways
this distracted season in my life will not last
The spring of rain came pouring down
and will come again .
