Gentleness

Matthew 11:29    New English Translation

29 Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Here now a pen and paper, lines running from left to right

All are waiting to obtain the memory of your smiling face

Slowly the words form in preparation somewhere in my sight

As to draw the form of my heart somehow to fill this space

You are the One, and Only flowing gently out of my pen

Not another one on my mind as I see your eyes sparkle

It seems such a privilege as I remember the moment when

We first met so long ago according to the design of the Master.

Time goes by almost unnoticed; once here and then, it’s gone

The cares of every day erase somehow almost all memory

All for the best, I know, since emotions seem oft overdone

As I dream and struggle with my visionary form of empathy
