Genesis Of A Fantasy

I met you on a summer day haphazardly

Believe me, trust me I had no idea

That you had the guts, the power

To touch and squeeze my heart

Until it was time to depart

To leave, hoping to encounter

Your sweet smile and crazy laughter

Another time in the future.

We exchanged phone numbers

Innocently, to stay in touch

To say hello at different hours

Then we left and rushed

To return home. Strangely

I felt the urge to call you

And you responded kindly

Like a lady should. And that was cool.

Oh! Dear! It was an enormous pleasure

To meet you. But my heart was pounding

That was love in sight! That was thunder

I could not believe it. That was spring

That was too early to fall for your smile

Yes, yes, I loved your pause, your unusual style

It has been a long time that I felt so good

So happy. Oh! That was a wonderful mood.

We texted each other, but your answers were short

Always very short:” Hi, hello, bye and thank you”

I wanted you to say more. I wanted you

To express yourself, like you were not at an airport

Oh! That was the genesis of a fantasy

Something unusual was flowing through my body

I felt in trouble, hoping that you would redeem me

And dreaming that you would save my heart in agony.

Oh! That was a bittersweet experience

Because I was over-thinking and exaggerating

Oh! That was puppy love, I was hastening

To literally defying gravity and science

Oh! It’s hurt because you left without saying

Goodbye. I guess that was a painful fantasy

You vanished, evanesced, disappeared like lightning

On a summer day, when the weather was sooty and stormy.
