She holds such life in her hand, as a child
Gazing into the exposed face of a clock,
Carefully analyzing the cool, lifeless elements
Until they develop into a beating whole;
Blazing eyes, electric green technologies,
Dissolve the world into its polished working parts,
Functions that will bear no surprise for this one
Young and clever product, disengaged
From material acids that corrode and make volatile
Her precious inner machineries.
Ticking, yet not a threatening pace, but
So each strong pulse releases the raw, built up
Potential she renews with endless verve—
This child knows nothing of time or decay.
