Futuristic Thinking

Everyone wants to be set in stone

I want to be set in dirt.

Let it fill me up, Let my lips part in a thoughtless smile

As worms make their homes in my throat.

Let life replace life,

Begin hundreds and thousands of lives

Give me this chance at redemption

For I may have wasted my own chance

But let me give a million others

The fractured pieces

Of my attempt.

All we can do while living is try

Fight the neverending cycle of failure

But death

Gives us a salvation

I myself find impossible to resist

I could go in stone

Or ash,

No- bury me in dirt

And give the worms

A chance

To make my life worth living.
