Futility

 Acts 24:16       New English Translation

16 This is the reason I do my best to always have a clear conscience toward God and toward people.

The lie within

Non-use of gifts and talents as opportunities pass by

Is like investing and see it dwindling down

Starting with a treasure to secure your future plans

Winding up empty-handed with no glitter in your crown

A mouth that refuses to talk and waits for God to do it

Hands that refuse to engage and put them to the plow

To consider yourself surrendered to the will of God Almighty

As no element is no longer used, and you’re at peace somehow

This opens the door to deception, and an invasion is very near

The troops of depravity will overrun your position

No resistance will be there, for you’ll be fast asleep

And chances are not ever to wake for Satan enjoys your condition

The Lord saved you to be holy, and you want to be a puppet

The Lord wants you to stand tall, and you are laying down

The Lord wants you to be involved, and you live isolated

The Lord wants you to build on the rock and not on sandy ground.

You’ve come a long way, baby. You hold no opinion or office

You don’t exercise your mind, nor will or even conscience

Good and evil appear the same in your comatose condition

You lost your reason for living as you shed your obedience

Powers of darkness drive someone into passivity.

This seems to be his greatest feat as he claims victory

When the good simply do nothing and in all things retreat

Then a nation is doomed to fall into overwhelmed captivity
