Freedom... seldom understood

Hebrews 13:5 Your conduct must be free from the love of money andyou must be content with what you have, for he has said,“I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.”

Is the freedom that we find

only when away from mankind?

Is this the freedom that we need,

for our soul to refresh and feed?

Is this what we do when asleep,

release our spirit thus to feed

in places where total peace is found,

where understanding still abounds.

And in the morning when daylight breaks

the spirit then the body shakes

“Get ready now”, for life invades

the tranquility of nights' embrace.

Is the day worth living without the night

or the night a treasure without day's plight?

Is not our spirit complete and revitalized

until both day and night are lived?
