Beaten, songs of freedom they sang.
Children taken, women raped,
Still songs of freedom they sang.
Education hindered, happiness rendered,
Freedom, freedom they sang.
Unheard voices, unseen dreams,
Sorrow never ending;
Disenfranchised, brutalized; but still they kept on singing.
Until one day when the blacks could say,
Freedom at last!!
