Why is it that when our parents speak of it,
We want to jump out of my skin,
crawl into the nearest corner and cry.
Trying to piece together a puzzle
we weren't prepared for.
We had warning,
sure.
They told sixteen-year-olds to find a passion;
a passion we hadn't found yet.
They told us the staggering amount of debt,
the unrealistic goals that had to be reached.
They did not prepare us for the reality.
The reality is that there is a generation of scared,
unprepared,
and unaware
youth.
