Former Superman

Little kids

with sticky hands,

rush toward their superman.

Begging for a taste,

begging to be set free.

A hero.

A leader.

Someone to look up to,

they stand above everything.

Representing power, and dreams.

But me? Admire?

No! I don't emulate.

I've been down THAT path before.

A been there, done that

Will you find a hero here?

Try again.

Go somewhere else.

Not here will you find

not anymore.

No one to support you,

they only care about themselves.

Representing the downfall of society.

Grown adults

with agendas,

rush to their offices.

Begging for civility,

begging for a break from reality.
