The Forgotten

There once was a shoe,

the color of blue.

Worn by a man,

by the name of Stan.

He use to work,

as the local clerk.

Until one day,

when lead astray.

When told he was fired,

he became unwired.

His decision to leave,

was misperceived.

Most thought he meant,

to California he went.

To find a bride,

and bring back his pride.

But what they did not know,

was to California he did not go.

To their surprise,

he meant his demise.

Now there sits his shoe,

the color of blue.

Alone in the sand,

where no one had planned.

Lays the remains,

covered in chains.

Never again,

will he say amen.
