Forbidding Success

Location

Since they're older, they think they know what's best.

But when asked the questions, they couldn't pass the test.

It's hard enough to make it in this world,

Without their input on our dreams being curled.

When they say we'll never make it, we want to prove them wrong.

We want to scream We Made It, like the chorus of a song.

Their attitudes bring down our confidence;

Our brains ache, our bodies tense.

They say our hard work will never pay off,

Like medicene will not cure a cough.

We're starting to believe there's no hope.

You win, and there's no way to cope.
