Fool of Purity
A swan’s purity for his mother's health
That is what the man had asked for
But not any swan
The swan of the lake far beyond the Prince's terrain
In a land where reality no longer functions the same
Where everything and anything can fool you
Make you go insane
That is where the swan lives
Where it’s been for awhile
Seeing it now
He couldn’t seem to aim
He was distracted
As if a spell was cast upon him
More delicate than raindrops falling
Or of the fireflies softly twinkling
When she appeared its as if the whole symphony had stopped to watch
To watch as a swan gracefully lands at the center of its lake
There was no swan, not anymore
For in its place was just a girl
A girl that held the key to saving his mother
Once the glittering glamour fluttered away
He pulled out an arrow and aimed
But she turned
When he peered into her eyes he saw life
But more than anything else
What the man had asked for
Purity
He let go…of the string
He missed
That was his biggest mistake
For when he got to her she let him fall
Fall through the water he never knew he stood upon just a second ago
The Prince glanced one last time
Through the ripples of the lake
To see her smile and disappear without a trace
