FML (Faces, Memories, Lives)

So many faces
So many lives
Memories flash before my eyes
We must leave them behind
We must leave them behind

The nine-year-old boy sits alone in a corner
He has no friends, except somebody's daughter
They both joke around about being alone
He believes she is the kindest angel ever known

So many faces
So many lives
Memories flash before my eyes
We must leave them behind
We must leave them behind

The face of a witch we all thought was good
Turned into a bubbling puddle of mud
Her cries are unanswered by those she has burned
As she faces her death her victims' heads are turned

So many faces
So many lives
Memories flash before my eyes
We must leave them behind
We must leave them behind

Sitting in a circle ready to sing
The bright eyes of a teacher with every ring
Of the piano and the voices he hears all around
However my ears no longer hear a sound

So many faces
So many lives
Memories flash before my eyes
We must leave them behind
We must leave them behind

A man who doesn't know you blames you for her death
Or, near death experience, please don't fret
He's swinging his cane and raising his voice
Another spirit breaks, no one has a choice

So many faces
So many lives
Memories flash before my eyes
We must leave them behind
We must leave them behind

The whole gang is here for the birthday party
We smile and we laugh and we do it wholeheartedly
Everyone thought the bond was forever
Now nobody talks; we have been dissevered

So many faces
So many lives
Memories flash before my eyes
We must leave them behind
We must leave them behind

The young spirit of a teenage boy in his prime
He can't do his work but he'll still make a dime
He claims he's going to get into the "game"
He called us a team. Am I to blame?

So many faces
So many lives
Memories flash before my eyes
We must leave them behind
We must leave them behind

The voice of my loved one cries out to me
As two of the others beat on her, I see
"We have to get out now" she cries
I can only just stand there, hypnotized

So many faces
So many lives
Memories flash before my eyes
We must leave them behind
We must leave them behind

I'm up on stage screaming my heart out
It's like a release but none of it starts out
As a memory, a soul, a face to behold
Every person you meet, treasure like gold

You don't know what's coming
But don't you mind
We must leave them behind
We must leave them behind
