Float Away

When the lights ease in
And my mouth in awe slightly opens
Taking in all the life given
And the love from music.
Each note is a rhythm
That no drug can steal
All movement in my hips
Mocks the strength of steal.
Some let loose and lose control
I keep calm and keep my mind
Let go of harm while all the fools
Try to make promises to their kind.
This was the time to let myself go,
Float away light as a feather
And remember that the people I know
Will eventually forget how far I go.
Breathing is the act that keeps us living-
But loving life is what keeps us alive.
If the sky does not make you smile
I will be glad to make it mine.
And if you’re on a plane, trying to escape pain,
I will be down below,
Floating light as a feather, being insane,
And remembering that the people I know
Will eventually forget how far I go.
