Flaw-full But Beautiful
Blind
We see ourselves out our mother’s womb
We see ourselves looking at the doll we prefer to play with
We see the colors we choose to color with
We choose the best looking toys
We see the spaces missing in our teeth
We see older girls with nice hair
We see ourselves not dancing as great
We see ourselves not popular enough
We see our crushes never laying an eye on us
We see the funky way our nose is bent
We see that our lashes are not long enough
We see the pain that we feel when our heart is broken
We see how un-symmetrical our face really is
We see our back not being straight enough
We see the pain of ourselves and the world
We see the views of others upon us
We see the distortion in our horrible grades
We see us not being confident enough
We see ourselves being nervous for a job interview
But what we don’t see is how flawless we really are internally.
Flaw-full But Beautiful
Childhood
petite, careless
Playing, choosing, coloring
Choosing the best looking dolls
Adolescent
unsure, blind-folded
wishing, dreaming, revealing
An unsatisfied image of you
Adult
Heartbroken, Insecure
fighting, maintaining, failing
To becoming a better person
Be happy with yourself because no matter the stage, you are flawless. Maybe not physically, but you can always be mentally flawless.
