Flames

You are a fire

I was longing for some heat

To keep my shivering soul from leaving

And to remain on my feet

Your warmth brought us in

My soul and self

But everyone warned us not to get close

And of the pain that would be dealt

My soul couldn’t listen

She was on a mission

Fascinated by the danger in your unpredictability

And the unfamiliarity of your flames

“This is how we escape the pain”

“Run with me towards the flame”

Of coarse it couldn’t be tamed

And now only the scars remain
