Fire on Fire

Labeled as something different than you,

Presented through every hue.

Not being able to express my real self.

Keeping all the notes in a box on the top shelf.

So no one sees.

I feel more at ease.

Coming out to many

Support? I don't get any.

Why am I gay?

I ask myself every day.

What's the point? Why so hard?

Some situations leave me scarred.

Flags and accessories all over my room.

Realizing when I get married, there will be no groom.

Wearing the same style,

Not being in denial.

Being in love with my own kind,

Hoping the world won't mind.

The pride community may be small.

But what applies to some,

Does not apply to all.

This poem is about:
Me
My community
My country
Our world

I had to write a poem for an assignment in a Creative Writing course I took last semester and I was told that it has potential!
