The Final Tear... for Today

Mon, 01/20/2014 - 14:37 -- kbasil

A tear drops from her eyes

She wants him to notice

She doesn't know why

He only refuses

A tear drops from her eyes

She's quite isolated

Her body is cold

The heat has all faded

But then she wonders

Was there ever any heat?

The memory is distant

There was never any heat

There's never been anyone

She was always alone

Her feelings unrequited

Her heart is now stone

She looks straight ahead

Their fingers intertwined
A crystal somewhere is heard breaking

The church bell has just chimed

She walks on slowly

The final tear drops. Unnoticed. To the ground.

Tomorrow is a new day

And yet again, her tears will resound
