Fight Like A Girl

Wed, 10/08/2014 - 07:50 -- Emily H

I am not a toy.

When you look at me,

a body is all you see.

A thing you think

you can play with

and throw away

after you have had

your fun.

I refuse

to be a victim.

I will not to let you

lay me down

and spread my legs

like a doll

or let you

look at me

like a piece of meat

and call me your babe.

I will fight

like a girl.

A girl who is

strong and

won’t stand to be

degraded.

I ask you

to treat me and others

with respect.

I am a human being

with a soul inside of me

and thoughts inside my head.

I breath.

My heart beats.

I need compassion

to survive.

I’m just like you.
