Feminism

Mon, 09/10/2018 - 14:41 -- Eli Ace

I am tenacious and lovely because who said I can not be both   I wonder if there will ever be a time where we will not be suppressed and be able to speak whenever we want to  I hear the roar of people who disagree with flappers flaunting what they have always beenI see women being accused of witchcraft and misandry for being independentI want to be free of the shackles of society telling me that I can only marry and  bare childrenI am tenacious and lovely because who said I can not be both  I pretend to be a man to vote for rights I still have not  obtainedI feel a burn in my throat from shouting  due to being told to be silentI touch the bruise that sits bare on my skin given to me by the very potent who        claimed they will take care of me I worry that they will shut down our cry for help telling us its meaningless and has no groundsI cry because being called a girl is weak and demeaning but they fear us rising to the same level as themI am tenacious and lovely because who said I can not be both  I understand that we are not enslaved nevertheless we still are oppressedI say we want to be as privileged as you but all you hear is we want to be better than youI dream that one day little girls aren't told they can’t be tough and little boys aren’t told they cannot cryI try to stand for the women that have been silenced by their husbands and fathersI hope that one day you will respect me even though I am not a manI am tenacious and lovely because who said i can not be both I am feminism
