Feelings

Destructive forces tearing down walls,

watching protective shields collide

Heartbreak lingers within you,

affecting loved ones held dear.

A broken heart accompaining

the pain and sorrow,

It guides all my thoughts

As it follows me into the depths

Confused feelings held inside

Threatening to overflow.

As life passes by

Wounds can reopen

But if you could move on, why can’t I?

After a while, it starts to hurt less

But then I see your face again

and become a complete mess.

But then the tears fade

as you come to pass

And I know that we will last

When I no longer weep,

I’ll have someone else to keep.

Out of the blue,

I fell in love with you.

You relit the fire and became my light

I hope that you and I will never part.

You are the one in my heart.

Now I can look at him with fresh eyes,

And see that he made the right choice

Cause without him I would’ve never known,

That I could claim another girl to be my own.

Warmth shines down upon my face

with you by my side,

but now I have something else to hide.
