Fear's Embrace

The fear that consumes me

Every bully's knee

Depression's transgression

It's my fault

I'm not good enough

My mind's default

Grown skin never rough

Sticks and stones

Always broke my bones

Words especially hurt me

I only wanted to be free

Flailing in fear's embrace

Victory though God's gift

Strength with a righteous face

Mended man's rift

My relationship with God

Helped defeat fear's grog
