Father

Father?

Thank you.

I shouldn’t be thanking you… I am, though…

You hurt me…

Emotionally…

Physically…

Mentally…

I wish the best for you…

As you continue through life…

You did your best, or did you?

Sometimes I think I should hate you…

I prayed for you yesterday…

I prayed for you to have peace…

And happiness…

I know you’re a troubled man…

You never really got the chance to be yourself…

You aren’t a bad daddy all the time…

Only when you’re drinking, really…

I wish you didn’t drink… I wish a lot of things about you…

I wish you were there for every one of my milestones…

Every band concert…

Every birthday…

I wish you hadn’t abused mom, and ruined our family…

Sometimes I wish everything could be the way it was when I was younger…

But I’m happy now… Happier than you’ve ever made me…

I do miss you, daddy… I really do…

I just don’t miss the mistakes you’ve made… I’m sorry...
