Fate Take Over It

When we were children, we believed that growing up was the way to freedom.

That maybe if we were just a little bit older, we could destroy our demons.

But somehow we found out the truth.

Running down the stairs we were so innocent,

Then I looked down when it finally started to make sense.

I started getting taller and my world was getting smaller.

The world never seems to be on our side, when we're already down and tired.

'Cause when there's nowhere else to hide and no one there to tell us it's gonna be fine

We decide when it'll be alright.

Maybe there's gonna be a day when it'll all just fade away

But for now I'm just gonna let fate take care of it.

Some days the stars manage to align and I think maybe I don't have to hide,

But then fantasy takes off its mask

At that point I don't even want to ask.

One day I'll find who I'm supposed to be

Someone will accept and love me for who I am.

In the meantime, I'll just keep holding on.
