Fashioned and hope

Romans 8:12-13         New English Translation

12 So then, brothers and sisters, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh 13 (for if you live according to the flesh, you will die), but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.

Fashioned and hope

My inner-man being close to God, my outer not the wiser

My inner with Life Himself and my outer near the grave

My inner-man swallows' true life and my outer the despiser

My inner surely build on the Rock and my outer just a slave

Obedient to the body and move on its every wish

A little discomfort there will alter its hopeless life

It sounds kind of snotty like a dirty-unwashed dish

To be used for a banquet in an atmosphere of strife

Filled with love and pity for its own sullen existence

Understanding only what good really should be about

The skeleton of a tree reaching up towards heaven

Tangled strands like a ghost mixed in with the crowd

Not a sigh of life left here in this petrified existence

Only engrained in stone a pattern of should have been

Only the Holy Ghost can bring it back into lively action

Through the Power and Will of God hungering to redeem
