I watched this thing called mother
Sunder and rupture
Spit fire and coal
Scream for a butcher
We children cry for reprieve from another
She sees only demons and conspirators
No children, no lover
For her dreams we are mere conquistadors
The liquid poison rotted her out
We watched the stretcher wheel her away
She waved at us one last time, firm in her route
And the alcoholic called "mother" died that same day
