Family Matters

As time goes by and I continue to grow,

My family backs me for each high and low

They've got my back

For every attack

They are the most loyal people I know.

There are times in life when others get me down

Classless jerks making me feel like a clown

Throwing sticks and stones

Trying to break my bones

The hurt paints my face with a sorry frown.

Sometimes the burden of blame falls on me

The road to glory seems so hard to see

Awful grades at school

Acting so uncool

Can't buy a good break even if it's free.

But when I come home and I'm dragging my feet

And my only thoughts are a day of defeat

I look up at them all

Standing so bright and tall

And I'm dancing to a better, happy beat.

So, when events put a damper on your life

And the pain and the sorrow cut like a knife

Just stay on cloud nine

Everything is divine

Because of family and friends, husband and wife.
