A Family History

A teen girl over one hundred years ago

chose to keep the child she did not ask for.

She didn't know her baby boy would be the father of four.

She didn't know that ten grandchildren would fan a flame

And that great grandchildren would hold his name.

She didn't know that he would be a great great grandfather to two.

Yet she loved him as her son in all the hurt she went through.

A teen girl over one hundred years ago

kept the son she didn't destroy.

She knew her baby  would bring the world joy.

She knew the bulge in her stomach was not just a bump

And that the baby inside would soon jump.

She knew his life was predestined

So she took his hand, and answered questions.
