Familiar Strangers

Mon, 11/26/2018 - 21:07 -- Hmsm227

I can hear my thoughts

As they run through my head

But I forget

That nobody else can

“What does this book remind you of?” says the teacher.

Michael Ondaatje.

Ondaatje is a Dutch name.

Dutch babies are like pancakes.

Pancakes are sweet.

Honey-senpai from Ouran Highschool Host Club likes sweets.

Ouran Highschool Host Club is an anime.

“It reminds me of anime!” I say.

It is funny.

Everyone laughs.

I laugh with them.

But inside I can hear myself crying.

A faint cry of a cruel world

Who puts me in boxes

Of ‘random’, ‘awkward’, or ‘weird’.

So I laugh.

To hide my voices.
