"Even though it's a falling star that doesn't make it any less of a star," 

But stars don't fall, they explode 

They die, fading from the sky and our memory

that thing you are calling a star, is nothing more than a clump of space rock

A space rock that is flaming through our stratosphere 

Burning up and dying
