Fallen Giant

Goliath stood tall and taunted the Israelites

He flashed his sword and spear

His weapons

He made himself known by his words and strength

His power

The Israelites did nothing for fear of destruction

Me

You knock down my books

Your sword

You trip me in the hallway

Your spear

You call me names and embarrass me

Your power

But there is one who can stop you

He held stones in his pocket

His weapons

He did not fear those larger than he

His power

When I feel like there is no hope, he will come

He will call on you with words

His stones

He will stand before you and demand justice

His power

With these, he will strike you down

Like the Israelites, I will once again have hope

Like the Israelites, I will no longer fear this bully

This Fallen Giant
