Faith ... hope

Hebrews 11:1

11 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for,

being convinced of what we do not see.

It seems that time when moving fast

slows down the mind somehow.

It brings many memories from the past

and the future fades somehow.

When memories are magnified

and failures come to light.

It seems that the future petrifies

and darkens all that’s bright

Who is it that motivates the heart

and let fears take command?

And why do we fall quickly apart

when trials are at hand?

Is it lack of faith or ignorance

that shakes and rattles thoughts?

Or is it faith without obedience,

that brings efforts to naught?

What than is uncertainty and fear?

Is it because of self unknown?

What more than life or death is near

or Who reigns from the throne?

Who writes on tables of man's heart

at times uncertainty and fear?

Who details in creation every part

and then wipes every tear?

Why are things that are simple

so complicated at times we stray?

And then problems, which need solving,

seem to grow from day to day.

But after solved, a few days pass,

the problems seem so small.

You wonder how it was possible

that the problems appeared so tall.

Perceptions come and perceptions go,

but can I change my self?

Or is it beyond my control

just possible with God's help?

So day to day I struggle yet

with no clear end in sight.

So let me make the best of it

and be happy with my plight.

And in contentment turn to God

Who will my burdens share

He will walk with me all the way

because He really cares
