Faith

Mon, 04/04/2016 - 22:17 -- J.T.W

I needed a village, and God sent you

The Neo-African American Queen, yet your graceful ways are nothing new

Afrocentric as you can be

That sprouting upward and outward tree that is you, branches made out of better dreams

With your pride, beauty, and intelligence as a shining seed

African Women like you aren't accessory, to this world, they're a need

I crowned you with my trust, and you to me with your love

I grow my wings, as I watch those like you fly above

You inspired me to join golf, and though I never got a par one

Life gave me the best driver, as a women who calls me her prince and son

There was a beauty contest in heaven, you would've been one of the ones that won

You haven['t changed me, but rather encouraged me to be who I am

Inspired to build a better me, but what is a better foundation than those that are called fam

I learned from people like you, that the hero doesn't always come with capes

But I think I'll make it down the less traveled road one day

Partially, because, I have Faith
