Faith
Galatians 2:20 New English Translation
20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Luke 16:10 New English Translation
10 “The one who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and the one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.
Faith
The life of faith is drastically opposed by the life of feeling
Although the life of both are seen walking hand in hand
But faith should lead the way and always direct the feelings
Which so easily beset us on the way to the Promised Land
Faith is anchored in the One in whom he believes.
Faith looks not at what happens but at him who receives
Faith establishes a relationship with God, especially
as faith undergirds what was lost and strengthen our beliefs
Faith does not regard feeling for it is concerned with God
Faith follows the One believed, so it beholds and rests in Jesus
Faith’s life is secured in the unchanging faithfulness of God
Belief never alters attitude as it is not here trying to please us
The feeling turns on how one feels. It only beholds oneself
Faith always expresses self the same in darkness or in light
Emotions induce a saint to think and love more of himself
But the pathway of faith is exclusively considering God’s delight
The interest of God is more important than one’s very own
To try to obey the will of God is more important to the Son
To live by sight and feeling and self-pity should be none
Replaced by faith to live the very best before the day is done
A saint should not bitterly cry as too bereft of life
Whenever one feels cold and dry, emptied or really pained
For life itself is spiritual and should be void of strife
You know, divided into oneself for nothing there is gained
