Failure

Failure

Luke 10:40 New English Translation (NET Bible)

40 But Martha was distracted with all the preparations she had to make, so she came up to Him and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do all the work alone? Tell her to help me.”

Oh! My son you work so hard

you’re distracted by much serving.

Why do you crave works so much

and are governed by outward matter?

Can’t you fulfill God’s orders quietly?

Without drawing attention

to yourself and the works

as The Lord gets lost in the latter

Confusion causes unrest, you know

and never seeks the Will of God

You labor according to your ideas

for carnality craves works

You fight a loosing battle somehow

and as long as you are busy

you won’t see the trees for the forest

and in vain your “will” will perk

If you can’t stand the heat, you know

get out of the kitchen

Well maybe it is on fire

burning to the ground

To give your body a sacrifice

is totally unasked for

For if there is no charity

your works are failure bound
