Eyes

As I stood
Under the tree
Above where she lies,
Memories thundered in my mind's eye
Like the storms
The fall season brings.
As I knelt,
The grass sharp and cool,
I trace her stone,
Cold and freezing.
The fake flowers
Stand straight in their holder.
False and strong,
As if mocking me.
Salty liquid splashes on her name,
The first of many,
As I stare at her grave. - See more at: http://storywrite.com/poem/11101695-Graveyard-by-Arizona-Tea#sthash.zkah...

You look into my eyes,
You see the color of sea foam.
A hint of sorrow, pain.
I look into my eyes,
I see the colors of an angry ocean.
Multitudes of tears long since shed.
You might get lucky and see into the depths.
You might see the hardships I've encountered.
Overcome.
You might see everything.
You might see nothing.
But that is through yours.
Not mine.
